Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nasi Ayam Istimewa Kampung Padang in Pandan Perdana, Malacca, Malaysia, is a culinary gem that proudly celebrates the beloved Malaysian favorite: nasi ayam, or chicken rice. This humble eatery has carved a niche for itself through its masterful preparation of chicken rice, a dish that sings with comforting familiarity yet excites the palate with every bite.

The star here is undoubtedly their Nasi Ayam Jumbo Special, featuring extra portions of tender, juicy chicken paired with perfectly steamed fragrant rice. Choose from combinations such as Peha + Dada or Kepak + Dada to indulge in more generous servings that don’t compromise the balanced flavors. Even the "Random Je Lah" option offers a satisfying portion for solo diners. Each serving arrives with roasted chicken that boasts a crispy, golden skin, locking in moist, savory meat beneath—a texture and taste that longtime customers rave about.

Accompanying the signature chicken rice is their exquisite sambal sauce, a harmonious blend that enhances the dish’s depth with a sweet yet subtly spicy kick. One customer perfectly described it as delivering an "euphoric taste" that complements the tender roast chicken to a tee. Their side soups are simple but soothing, rounding out the meal with warmth and lightness.

Beyond the mains, the drink selection brilliantly complements the dining experience. From homemade barley tea sweetened just right to the refreshing Thai Green Tea Ais, every sip is crafted to refresh the palate and elevate your meal.

The ambiance at Nasi Ayam Istimewa Kampung Padang is unpretentious and friendly. Staff here make you feel welcome with their approachable warmth—a sentiment echoed by patrons who praise the courteous service alongside the delicious food. The casual setting is perfect for an everyday indulgence or a quick stop during your Malacca explorations.

Pricing is approachable too, reflecting great value, with standard nasi ayam plates starting at MYR 15.00 and generous jumbo portions priced just a little higher. Diners have called it “the best nasi ayam” in Malacca, repeatedly returning for the consistent quality and comforting flavors.

If chicken rice is your comfort food, few places deliver the nostalgic and soulful experience quite like Nasi Ayam Istimewa Kampung Padang. Whether you're craving a simple meal or an extra hearty portion, this spot invites you to savor one of Malaysia’s most beloved dishes at its very best.

Taste above average. It is delicious, but had found more delicious than this before. Not here in Melaka. Their sambal quite sweet. The chicken is crispy. The soup is OK. Rm6.50 for regular nasi ayam. Boleh laa. Repeatable? - 7/10

The rice alone is so tasty. Get 'jumbo' for double rice portion and get 'double' for double chicken portion. For parking, just park at the shoulder (if available).
